Affiliate Settings In Multiple HubPages Accounts
75I am a newbie to HubPages and joined HubPages without thinking how will I use my account or my HubPages user name. So after I published 2 hubs and started digging deep into promoting my published hubs and getting my hands wet with affiliate settings, I realized that the user name that I signed up for wasn't the ideal one. As you might have read in the learning center, there is no way to change user name but start another account with a new user name. I decided to do that since I only have 2 hubs to moved over to my new user name. However, as I was starting with my new user name, I realize that I may have trouble with my affiliate settings.
I posted a question to find out if I can move my affiliate settings to the new account or do I have to sign up for Google Adsense and Amazon Affiliate again. Here's what I found out and want to save fellow hubbers trouble if you have to do the same like me or wonder how affiliate settings work in multiple hubpages accounts.
You can have multiple hubpages accounts for each of your Google Adsense or Amazon Affiliates account and track them separately. Here's how:
Amazon Affiliates:
1. Sign on to Amazon Affiliates using the email address and password you used to set up the Amazon Affiliates when you set up your first HubPages account with them.
2. Click on Account Setting at the top of the Amazon Affiliates home page.
3. Click on Edit Your Web site information under Account Information.
4. Click on the + (Add additional URL*) under What is the URL of the website(s) you will use to send traffic to Amazon? to add your new user name HubPages url.
5. Click save changes at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click on Account Setting again at the top of the screen.
7. Click on Manage Your Tracking IDs under Account Information.
8. Click on Add Tracking ID button.
9. Type in whatever tracking ID you want to use for your new HubPage account and hit Search. Keep doing this until you find one is available and select it.
10. The one you selected will be the one for your new HubPages user name account. Copy this down and add it to the Amazon Associates Affiliate Setting of your new HubPages account.
Google Adsense:
1. You don't need a separate ID for a new HubPages account. Use the ID that Google Adsense sent you when you set it up for your first HubPages account.
2. In your new HubPage account, go to Affiliate Setting,
next to Google Adsense click sign up, select have an existing account
and type in the email address, phone number and zip code that you use
when you sign up Google Adsense. Click save. It will verify and
automatically activate your Google Adsense ID to this HubPage account.
3. You can separately track the performance separate HubPages account by adding a channel to each HubPages account.
4. Sign on to your Google Adsense account, click on AdSense Setup and then click on Channel.
5. Click on Add new custom channel.
6. Click on URL channels.
7. Click on Add new URL channels.
8. Type in your HubPages URL for each account, e.g. www.hubpages.com/profile/username
9. Click add.
10. Now you can separately track each HubPages account in Google Adsense.
